In recent years, the effectiveness of new therapies has been investigated and demonstrated. Especially with so-called dichoptic training good results have been achieved.
Dichoptic means stimulating both the lazy eye and the good eye simultaneously.
Each eye sees part of the total image and the brain makes one whole from the two images.
Playing dichoptic games stimulates the eye and the connections to the brain, just like taping the good eye. Research shows that this form of therapy could be 5 to 8 times more effective than taping.

With a modern phone in a widely available VR headset, children can follow the therapy at home. The headset is a comfortable VR glasses specially developed for children.
A large library with something for everyone is the key to “therapy compliance”. Games, games, 3D adventures and ultimately educational games ensure that children are working on improving their vision without even realizing it.
By continuously adding new games and content to the library, the child remains engaged and interested.

The Vedea development team is currently busy developing child-friendly games and other content. We do this in collaboration with a number of renowned institutes and specialists.
In 2023, we started a first broad-based study with dozens of patients to clinically test the method. Immediately after this trail, we will follow up with a follow-up study in collaboration with several hospitals so that we can bring many more children into contact with the therapy.
We expect the method to be available to all children with amblyopia in 2026.
